Meet AFP Maryland Chapter Member: Mandy Snyder
Mandy Snyder is the Senior Development Manager for Junior Achievement of Central Maryland.
We asked Mandy...
What is the most rewarding thing about being a professional fundraiser?
Being able to see the dollars raised in action. At Junior Achievement, we make the connection between the classroom and the real world; getting students college and career ready through our three pillars of work readiness, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. When I go into the classroom or see the students in action, it makes all of the hard work worth it. Being able to talk the students and hear the lessons they learned and how Junior Achievement is truly preparing them for their future and that they are going to take these skills back to the classroom, on their next interview, or with them to college is extremely rewarding.
AFP Maryland is your source for professional development. More than 400 members and other development professionals meet frequently to learn from AFP-International’s resources and participate in a range of chapter offerings, including:
Regular programs and events that provide a wide range of education and training and opportunities for networking; Roundtables to connect with peers around topics of interest and relevance; Mentoring that brings experienced professionals together with those new to fundraising or who want to learn a new skill; a local Job Bank for job seekers; and an annual Fundraising Day conference and National Philanthropy Day celebration.
Check us out, join our chapter, get involved, and celebrate our profession.
